Feng Shui Spring Cleaning
Bamboo Balanced Feng Shui Living Dreams, interpreting your bad dreams, learn what they mean! Find out now FREE!

Spring is in the air and now is the time for spring cleaning. Little did we know that this yearly ritual of cleansing the house has long been a Feng Shui ritual. Yes, spring is the time of new beginnings and the time for creating a new you. It is an important part of Feng Shui living.

During the Chinese New Year, we made our decisions for the upcoming year, but now is the time of spring cleaning action. If you want to achieve balance, it starts in our hearts and minds; Feng Shui living preaches harmony of body and mind. With your body full of energy and ready to go, let’s start moving out the clutter. We are going to get rid of all the junk we stored up not only over the winter, but all over.

The first evaluation will be internal. To apply Feng Shui secrets, we must examine ourselves first. There isn’t one of us that can forget our bodies. Let’s start with overhauling the kitchen. Dispose of the holiday treats along with any other items that are not good for our well being. We really do know what we need to be eating. If you don’t, please get help, since we should all want the best.

Next, let’s tackle the closets. Clutter is a problem in Feng Shui. We must use Feng Shui principles to create organization and harmony. You may feel as though you need an NFL player in order to remove clutter, but don’t despair, you are on your way.

I know when you start the process, everything needs a new coat of paint, scrubbing or major overhaul. The good news is this is the time for it to happen and the force is with you. It is as known as the dragon’s breath, and it moves the cosmos as well as the energy in your home. It is an invisible force that propels us into action.

If for some reason you can not find your own dragon energy, call a friend that you know thrives on getting things done. Remember the old saying, "If you want to get things done, ask a busy person!" They have the energy that can be a motivation for you.

So now we must look at the windows. Proper ventilation is very important for Feng Shui living in keeping the home a healthy place. The carpets need to be cleaned as well as the rugs. Think Snow White and start whistling while you work!

Spring cleaning the home makes everybody feel better. It gives you the sense of being alive and creating wellness. This is your home, where you are nurturer and cared for. Whether it is a palace or a bedroom of your own, make things shine and you will begin to shine as well.

My whole world was clutter. I have given away car loads of junk. And that is what it is, junk. The more I donate the more free I feel. I send it out into the universe and if I need something I know the universe will give it back only better. Help others with your junk and your mind and spirit will be lighter.

I love to have a decluttered home, but a little over a year ago, my daughter, her then husband and my grandson moved in with me. The husband is gone, thankfully, but his stuff is still here. i want to throw it away, but something stops me.My daughter is still trying to get a life back, and the 10 year old has turned 11! I am trying to get everyone to recycle, but can't.I am hoping Azna will help put me on the right road to action! It helps just writing this down. Thanks for listening!Dragon Breath,I need it!

some good suggestions and comments, I have neat clutter, lol. Actually both my husband and I keep things because we think we will need them (& usually find out we do if we throw it away.) However people have told my husband that our home is so neat, g. I think I just straighten stuff, wipe things down, pick up the clothes, dishes, towels, etc. and ask everyone to pick theirs up too. It does make things go smoother. I do need to go through papers and get rid of stuff, need a better shredder to protect ourselves though. I always feel better when my house is clean and neat.

I cannot part with magazines I have not read. Some are quite a few years old. I pick one up every once in awhile and read it. It is comforting to me to keep them. Yes, I am a clutterer. I give away clothes when I can, and sometimes books or little things I don't need. I throw out what no longer works or is useful. I am very careful about what I throw out. Some things can still be used in some way. The best thing for me to do is to organize the clutter, so I know where to find things. But I really am not good about throwing things out.

It's as if I knew subconsciously (feng shui--Spring cleaning) I am in the process of decluttering everyting. I started with all the closets and got rid of loads. Then had bedroom and trim in bdrm painted, then cleaned basement, had new closet shelves installed and as I put things back will declutter even more. Then on to the garage. I have had help and it was strenuous, didnt think I could part with things but I was able to do so and I feel so much better now!!

De-clutter? I have many things I would like to toss, but husband doesn't want to throw ANYTHING away...and has a fit when he notices I have! Having too much stuff around does make me feel overwhelmed. I suspect he might be that way because I don't think his family had much when he was a child. We've been married 35 years. He's too stubborn to change.

One philosophy I live by is "Don't waste". Recycle, reuse and donate what you have 'outgrown'. Whether it is a book, CD, DVD, clothes or just something collecting dust: someone else would like it. A clean home is a healthy home as well. (My Mom used to say that cleanliness starts at home.)

If you find it hard to part with things that were gifts, or get rid of things because it was "grandma's, or it reminds you of special times gone by, take pictures of them and then get rid of them. The photos will bring back memories as well as the object itself, and take up much less room.
