While carrying my babies, I always played piano to them, sang, and talked to them. I even read stories to them. My oldest son told me that he thinks that certain classical music that I play on piano he has known since before birth... (which he has!) The greatest illustration of the effects of this is when my daughter was born. She was crying so hard that her body was arching backwards, and my friend, a nurse who was there for the delivery, carried her around to me. I couldn't touch her because my arms were strapped won (c-section) but I started talking to her, and immediately she quit crying and her whole body relaxed. The doctor who delivered her said "isn't it something how she knows her mama's voice!) It was amazing.

Hey this is great. For any women pregnancy is an very important period. She needs to be very happy. So i would suggest to do what ever they want to do in order to remain happy and to get a peaceful mentality. A nice idea is to listen to pleasing music. They need to be happy so that the child inside gets a very good environment. So for that, i wish they could follow any method.

My cousin is pregnant with her first child, and she suddenly got into Feng Shui at about one month. She's been calling me over constantly to rearrange the house for her as she can't do it for obvious reasons, and her husband can't move the furniture himself. The place is a lot nicer though, seems much more spacious.

You shouldn't go overboard on safety. A mans home is a castle, but he shouldn't make it a fortress. It's a good idea to cover those plugs and lock those cabinets, but kids need to learn also that running around like a maniac can get them hurt. You need to stop them getting hurt, but the whole house doesn't need to be covered in bubble wrap.

I have two doting daughters, the eldest is 8 years old already in grade 2 and my youngest is 2 years old. She will be turning 3 years come February 2009. For my second baby I was really hard up while having been pregnant to her. I was so lazy to get up of bed all I want is to sleep maybe 24 hours a day. So when the time that my baby was out of this world with so much sweat of giving birth, I was so relieve. But I want my youngest daughter to be the last now for we can’t afford to have a baby boy for the prices of commodities are all soaring up high now. The articles are really good for expectant mothers as well as for those wanna be moms.

Thanks Patricia for those tips. I will certainly take note of them when I am planning to have another child. Though a few of the tips are common knowledge, I didn't know that sleeping under a ceiling fan wasn't good. I have always been sleeping under one. I wonder what better alternative I can use
