Mystical Tips to Deal with the Symptoms of Spring Fever
Do you have all of the symptoms of Spring Fever? There is there is the restlessness, the inability to stop daydreaming, and the “urge to merge” with that individual who is completely wrong for you?
According to a March 22, 2007 edition of the online Scientific American Spring Fever is not a myth. In an article called Fact or Fiction: Spring Fever is a Real Phenomenon, the illness in question has symptoms like a beating heart, appetite loss, a flushed face and spacy feeling.
Matthew Keller, postdoctoral fellow at the Virginia Institute for Psychiatric and Behavioral Genetics in Richmond, studied 500 people in the U.S. and Canada and found that the more time people spent outside on a sunny spring day, the better their mood. Such good moods decreased during the hotter summer months and the winter. The ultimate feel good, arousal temperature is 72 degrees Fahrenheit, otherwise known as room temperature. This is the temperature of Spring in many climates.
The season of Spring is also well known as human mating time. This is just not an intuitive sense. It is controlled by the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), which is a device in all mammal’s eyes. When mammal’s including humans receive more light through their SCN, they know it is time to mate. Just so you know, humans conceive about 10 percent more babies during the Spring than in winter so keep your eye on that “hot to trot” teenager of yours. He or she may not be able to help his or her hormones.
Researchers also estimate that over half of all people do experience the symptoms of Spring Fever, so there may not be a great deal that you can do about it. There is no really serious outfall to having Spring Fever, except that it might distract you and also prevent you from being as productive as you might want to be. Yet another problem could be an infidelity as Spring Fever can lead to infatuation.
For most people, the challenge is staying disciplined and staying inside so they can get work done. Here are some tips to help you master the temptation to let the symptoms of Spring Fever lead you astray.
Do not fight the urge to take a walk. If the sunshine outside beckons you, then simply give in to it. Limit yourself so you do not sabotage your whole work day. Making the walk an errand also helps you make the most of the time you spend outside. If you take a lunch break, try and spend it outside on a patio or in a park to satiate your body’s need for sun. Keep in mind that there is nothing wrong with enjoying the spring weather. Spring is all about getting more sunshine and getting more Vitamin D from the sun’s ray on your skiing. Once metabolized, this Vitamin D will help elevate your mood and keep you healthy.
Open a window and let the sunshine in as it is now warm enough to experience some fresh air. Bring the “outside in” by picking some flowers and basking in their scent. This will make you feel less like you are missing something by not experiencing the great outdoors.
Try working outside. If you have a laptop and any job flexibility at all, you can take the laptop to a patio or a park and enjoy writing outside.
When you are off work, take the time to take a trip out of town and into a nature. It is best to do this with a loved one. Go to a favorite park, zoo, or antique market. Get some fresh air together!
For centuries, Spring Fever was diagnosed as a real disease because people felt lethargic, lazy, and weirdly ill. This is because over the winter months they were deprived of fresh foods that contained Vitamin C and also Vitamin D. Taking Vitamin C and D supplements can help you get a kick start if you think your spacey mood is due to that.
Our livers and kiddies also become stifled due to inactivity over the winter months. Clogged up livers and kidneys cause us to feel lazy, foggy, and too dreamy. This means it is time to do a gentle cleanse of our systems eating things that help these organs do their own Spring cleaning. Foods to eat that help support the cleansing of these organs are artichokes, olives, cherries, kale, and all bitter greens. Drinking a shot of apple cider in the morning helps clear these organs of congestion acquired during the winter.
There are some mystical rituals you can do to help cool down a case of lust that just won’t go away. An old Christian voodoo spell to get rid of lust is to mix coconut water with the juice of a lime and while you are standing in the shower, pour this mixture over your head. Lime is a fruit associated with focus and the coconut is associated with “spell-breaking” so that the spell will not have power over you any more. If this sounds “icky” to you , remember that you can buy shower gels and bath gels that already have lime or coconut in them. Focus on regaining your self-control while using these gels and perhaps you will be able to cool down your Spring Fever temperature a few degrees.
