Is your name considered unlucky? In Numerology, calculate your Expression number to find out if your name or your baby’s name is lucky or unlucky.
To begin, here is the chart that is used to calculate name values for an Expression number.
A, J, S = 1
B, K, T = 2
C, L, U = 3
D, M, V = 4
E, N, W = 5
F, O, X = 6
G, P, Y = 7
H, Q, Z = 8
I, R = 9
Finding your Expression number is simply a matter of adding up the values that are equivalent to the letters in your baby’s name, as is traditional in numerology, and reducing to a Master number.
The number that is really unlucky for a name is a 4, but only if the double digit it reduces to is a 1+3. The number is equated with struggles, poverty, and emotional challenges. If the name is a 2+2 that reduces to a 4 it is luckier because it is a Master Number 22 before it is reduced to a single digit. Girl names that add up to 4 include Inga, Joan, Nicole, Robin, Starr, Elvira and Gretel. Boy names that add up to a 4 include Gene, Jude, Hebert, Regis, Rudolph and Solomon.
The next unluckiest number for a name is a 6. It indicates a life that is dominated by family to the extent that the person is never free or emotionally healthy. Unlucky 6 names for girls include Dawn, Connie, Andie, Ginger, Kim, Phoebe and Tracie. Unlucky number 6 names include Dirk, Fabio, Howe, Seth, Wade, Victor and Arden.
Although 7 is not as bad as a 4 or a 6, it has its challenges. The child is often brilliant, but feels very alone. Some examples of 7 names for girls include Cher, Ellie, Andrea, Tabitha, Victoria, and Jacquelyn. Unlucky 7 names for guys include Thor, Jack, Kevin, Basil, Brad, Clifton, and Maddox.
A number 5 name is not a bad choice, but it can limit a person when it comes to starting a family. The person with a 5 name never seems to want to settle down but prefers adventure. Number 5 names for females include Barb, Gigi, June, Samantha, Amelia, and Apple. Number 5 names for males include Lewis, Morton, Russ, Zack, Ashton, and Bart.
Of the less fortunate numbers, 9 is one of the better Expression numbers to have in a name. It represents a spiritual path, but that can also mean the existence led by the owner of the name might be riddled with uncomfortable karma.
Number 9 names for females include Beatrice, Inez, Eric, Paris, Valerie, and Anita. Number 9 names for males include Chet, Curtis, Butch, Carmine, Lawrence, Mohammed, and Theodore.
If you do find that you end up having to bestow your child with an allegedly unlucky home (perhaps because you want to name the baby after someone in your family), the good news is that you can help mitigate it by giving a lucky name that adjusts the mathematics of the total name. Sometimes you can also alter the calculation of a name simply by adding a vowel or consonant to it that changes its value.

Ok, I guess my confusion is the same as most people. We just want a complete article to calculate our names. Things missing in the article are all the number definitions. I calculate down to 28 - 2+8=10. So, do I break it down again or what? What can we do with the information?
