I will never forget the day I met my Spirit Guide.

I can still remember this day so clearly. I was seven years old and it was a lovely spring day in Kansas City. I had the funny feeling that someone was standing behind me. So I kept looking behind me—I thought I might see them.

As I looked into the mirror, I heard a woman’s distinctive high-pitched voice say to me, “I come from God. I am here to guide and protect you, and you don’t have to be afraid.” At that moment, it seemed like every hair on my body stood straight up. Then, I dropped the hairbrush and ran screaming downstairs for my Grandma Ada.

I told her that I heard a woman’s voice. She gently asked me what it said. When I told her, she said to me that she thought that this was my Control (the Spiritualist word for Guide). Grandma Ada then explained to me that I came from a long line of family members that heard voices.

She also that she had seen my Control several times and suggested that I ask her what her name was. I stubbornly told her that I didn’t want to—Grandma Ada only smiled. Later that day, she sat me down and explained to me that many in our family had this ability. She said that God gave us this ability and that we use it for good.

Over the next several months, Francine would say things to me—she was very motherly towards me. She would say things like, “You don’t want to do that, do you?” or, “There isn’t any reason to be cross.”

Today, I can see how smart Francine was to introduce herself to me in this way. She really helped me get to know her. Now, I gladly talk to Francine all the time. There isn’t a day that doesn’t go by that I do not speak with Francine. I ask for her input on so many issues.

Your Spirit Guides want to connect with you. They are always available to you. You may not have recognized it, or like me, you may have tried to push the contact away. Try to stay open to the wonderful gifts that the relationship you have with your Spirit Guide can offer you.

 Ive had the book for some time... and am sharing it wiht my friends daughter at the moment..I meditate often...sometimes without realizing..I know that I have what I sense to be a Male guide whom I call Micheal.I've never seen him that I can recall, but I do alot of walk training for a cancer walk I participate in every Sept. & I sense hes there...in fact i catch myself walking on the left side of the walk like someone is there with me.Even when i move over to let ppl pass etc. i find myself moving back to the left side.Im assuming that its because hes there that i walk on the left side? Sometimes I smell avery strong fruity scent (like juicy fruit gumalmost) again im assuming thats Micheal. In the pas month or so (& very frequently this week especially) that im seeing double digit numbers such as the clock and house or street numbers...IVe heard you say that this is a going up a level in spirituality...does this mean that i am more suseptable to seeing Micheal now...Ive always sensed him...and I think Ive heard him calling to me as im falling asleep or alone in the house...anyway I DO talk to him often and ask for help.  Hello Sylvia, I have bought your book Contacting Your Spirit Guide. I have not seen him yet,but I do know it is a man. He just said my name one evening and I was so excited I just sat there. Then I told him thank you now I know you are a man. I wasn't sure,because I called him Andy. I wish I knew what his name was! Anyway, I am looking forward to your Web Class this month.  Hello Sylvia, I know I have a psirit guide and I have experienced many things that have led me to bealive so. I am afraid I cannot purchase your book because I can find it anywere.  Hi Sylvia, I bought your book on Contacting Your Spirit Guide, I have listened to the CD many times and I have not been able to contact with my spirit guide yet, do you have any ideas of what I'm doing wrong or can you give me some advice on this subject. Can you tell me the name of my spirit guide? I really do believe that I have a spirit guide! Thank You! for all you do to help millions of people in this world! Thank You for your Web Classes, I have asked questions in each and everyone of them but, I wasn't lucky enough to get pick for you to answer my questions, so I am looking forward to each of your Web Cam Class, maybe I will get pick on one of them.  I really need to by the CD and work on contacting my spirt guide. I have not been able to contact my guide yet, but I do know they exist and help me everyday. Isn't it so cool that Sylvia meet Francine when she was a kid; I think that is amazeing. When Sylvia first coined the term "spirit guide" I heard about it on Montel and it really opened my mind by provideing a word for something I knew was there but couldn't explain or describe. That is why Sylvia is the best writer of all times in my book, because she opens peoples minds and hearts. :)

 Sylvia... this is not what you said you experienced in your book, "The Other Side and Back". You stated it was at night while you were going to bed, you were holding a flash light, and you saw what Francine looked like. Please don't let these inconsistancies stand... and clarify why you might have two different stories.

 I hope you get to read this, Sylvia. This year I bought your book, Contacting Your Spirit Guide. I listened to the CD and focused myself for the meditation. I didn't know what to expect, but I had always assumed that I would have a female spirit guide, since I am female. Well, imagine my surprise when during the meditation, I sensed a male presence at first, and then later on SAW a golden haired, very tan, "Adonis-type" figure. What an overwhelmingly loving, warm sense I had! When I asked, "What is your name?", I got an impression of "R". I've been calling my guide "Rafee" ever since and am so thankful that he is around to look out for me. I ask him for help on different issues from mundane to serious and feel very comforted.
