Numerology of 2012

Hollywood sure thinks so and is busy grinding out the movies about our final demise, including a major one recently released called “2012.”

It was the Mayans from Mexico that originally proclaimed that the world would experience some kind of drastic event that would also eventually lead to the end of the world. Numerologists and other mystical types have preferred not to see it so drastically and instead like to think of the year 2012 as the moment in time when mankind as a whole will experience a complete change of consciousness that alters us for the better for good. The exact date of this numerological eventuality is December 21, 2012. 

It is interesting to note that even though our culture always interprets this as being the Mayan “end of the world” date, there is no actual record of this being what this culture actually thought. This is because the Spanish destroyed almost everything written by the Mayans thousands of years ago. By the way, the time of the end of the world is supposed to be 11:11.

However, in terms of the oral tradition, we do get the idea that whatever the Mayan people thought was going to happen on that date was supposed to be big – really big. That is where you can see the value of numerology. The numbers can validate whether or not we are in for some kind of disaster or change of consciousness.

So will this date actually signify the apocalypse? Aside from complete global destruction due to alien invasion or climate cataclysms or the Second Coming of Christ -- December 21, 2012 is also supposed to symbolize the actual dawning of the Age of Aquarius (just like in the song).

In fact, there are many people that believe that this date is going to mark a period of peace and prosperity that is going to last over ten thousand years! It is supposed to be the day when Christians finally manage to create Heaven on Earth.

Many religions including Brahmanism, Mormonism, Judaism, and Islam also see this day as significant in a way that makes the particular religion triumphant over all other religions. The day is a redemptive one in which there is supposed to be absolute self-evident proof that one religion is better than another.




A lot has been written about the significance of these dates, but is there actually anything truly important about the date itself in terms of the numerology?  A close examination of the numerology for that day does reveal some interesting points.

Looking at the date in a strictly numerological way we see that it is a very binary number consisting of 1’s, 2’s and 0’s. The numbers read as 12-21-2012. Only the single digits 0, 1, and 2 are present, which is of course very unique just in itself.

More importantly, the sum total of this number arrangement, after reducing it to a single digit, is an 11, which reduces to 2.

First of all, it is interesting that the day that has been pinpointed as being the end of the world, as we know it is an actual 11 day. Eleven is a master number and this number is all about spiritual mastery, the wounded healer, and awakenings spiritually. Christian numerologists see it as being the number of the savior, thus backing up the theory that it will herald the return of Christ.

Perhaps this will happen on a mass level on planet earth on this date. Maybe the people on this earth will get some kind of “wake up call.” After all, it is a little more coincidental that this date added up to a master number rather than just an ordinary single digit number.

The sum total of 11, with a challenge number of 2, makes this date special, especially if you consider that 2 challenges can symbolize a lack of cooperation or love. So if you look at this date as being a kind of Life Path Number, you will recognize that this kind of challenge can mean war. However, it can also mean reconciliation. So there could be a “end of the world type battle” or we could be looking at the mass reconciliation of lost souls with their god.




Oddly, the Sun aligns celestially with the center of the Milky Way on that date. This is an event that happens to occur only once every twenty six thousand years. Of course, this has led to many conspiracy theories about this date including the one that this may have been the date when civilization was actually “seeded” by aliens or when mankind was handed the special tools to evolve by friendly extraterrestrial beings.

Ultimately, the date does indicate a lot of special cosmic activity both on the numerological and astrological levels of existence. The eleven could mean that mankind does suffer some kind of jolt that is ultimately shocking and enlightening.  The number 11 also indicates transcendence of the mundane, so we could possibly see an unusual manifestation of some kind in the world that teaches us en masse to “let go of something” that has not been serving our higher purpose in the long run.

Of course, the number two also can symbolize unions and peace. When 11 is reduced to a 2, it can mean reconciliation or a reunion. It is the number of the lovers and also a number that can symbolize peace. So there is a bit of a debate about whether the highest vibration number (the 11), which can symbolize a spiritual battle or the lowest vibration (the 2), which symbolizes peace should be interpreted for that day. Either way, we are looking at some kind of shift of conscious that probably involves elements of both union and discord.

However, before we lay our money on that date as being the one that signifies the end of the world, we have to consider that there are many other dates in 2012 that have a similar  “end of the world” vibrations including 12/12/2012, 11/11/2011, and many other dates. Who knows? Maybe one of those binary calculations signifies the actual end of the world and the Mayans were mistaken!

 Interestingly, I've read from more than one source where the Mayan's say that their ancestors did not say it would be the end of the world....just the end of a cycle, and that it is the Western world's projection that it will be the end of the world. I tend to believe that.

 I am stunned that such experienced specialists in the metaphysical world don't KNOW? that the numbers 11 and 22 ARE special master numbers that DO NOT EVER get added to a single digit! That being true means this amateurish 'article' holds no weight, numerologically speaking. You are communicating incorrect information for people to follow.

 I also heard from Sylvia Browne that the Aliens will be showing themselves more throughout this year and the following. That in 2012, if we listen to what they have to teach us on how to save our world, we will have a huge change on how we live in it and take care of it. I believe it is up to us, human beings, as it always has been, on how and when we will end our world. The way we have been becoming more aware of recycling, going green, and maybe even this polar tilt and economic crisis in America, is a way of making us realize what we have to do is be more thankful of what we have instead of depending on material things, money and greed. We need to start taking care of each other, family, and our world and not look the other way on those obvious destructive paths happening in our world today. We can only save our world God had given us to live in and only we can destroy it.

 I just want to go with the thought that the date signifies the dawning of the age of Aquarius. I certainly hope that that is what is in store for my child and grandchild. The world needs such a change, it's been nothing but one war after another for far too long.

 My personal belief is that this date isn't so much "THE END" as the beginnning of the end. I have started preparing for this for the last 20 yrs when it came to my attention and now I have grandkids and I have started getting them to understand that our way of life will be changing soon and the more they learn now the easier it will be to accept what will happen later. Also not to be afraid of change, it will be for the good of all and to just be prepaird for anything.

These religions do-not specificly state in their doctrine that December 2012 is in any way the end of the world or that their religion will be proven correct. Now if you are making the statement based on an open ended conclusion that at the end of the world we will learn all truths, then you could have just said all religions believe...even your religion claims that! I enjoy your entertainment but wish more accuracy. Thank You
