Brian Weiss is a very famous practitioner and advocate of past life therapy. He is a lecturer who is famous around the world for being able to cure psychological problems with his past life regression methods. His practice is grounded in the belief of reincarnation and that we carry over injuries and psychic wounds from past lives into this one. The theory is that if a person can identify and label these problems during meditation or hypnosis, then the neurosis or wrong behavior can be cured.

Brian Weiss graduated from Columbia University and Yale Medical School, where he received his degree in medicine with a specialty in psychiatry. His other impeccable credentials include his role at Chairman Emeritus of Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami. Before this post, he was a professor of psychiatry at the University of Miami School of Medicine.
The main intent of Brian Weiss’ books and teachings is to advocate the clinical applications of past life therapy when it comes to treating phobias, addictions, depression, and psychosomatic disorders. He often uses hypnosis to help people remember their childhood and past lives.
According to his biography, one of his most famous cases was one of his initial case of past life regression. He hypnotized a woman who says that she was a channeler that could communicate to her dead infant son through entities called the Masters. Her claim to fame was that she lived eighty six lives previous to this one. This all contributed eventually to Brian Weiss’ theory that we all have many lives and masters.
Weiss is also a sought after and frequent guest on radio and television talk shows. He is the author of several books, including Many Lives, Many Masters (1988), Through Time Into Healing (1993), Only Love is Real: A Story of Soulmates Reunited (1995), and Messages from the Masters (2000). He is founder of the Weiss Institute and maintains a practice in Miami, Florida.
