The Meaning of Prophetic Dreams
Understand Prophetic Dreams Psychic Sylvia Browne, World-renowned Psychic Sylvia Browne pictures by Sylvia Browne

Many different types of dreams exist, some of which can predict the future. While many people don’t think they have psychic abilities, they often can remember a time when they had a powerful prophetic dream. Your psychic mind provides you with valuable impressions while you are sleeping peacefully. The meaning of these prophetic dreams can be powerful.

So how will you know if a dream is truly prophetic, and how do you interpret a prophetic dream? Prophetic dreams are always in color and never in black and white. A prophetic dream has logical action where one thing leads to another in a sequence that you will easily understand. It is critical to understand that there is no “right” or “wrong” way to have a prophetic dream. Only you can make the final decision if a dream is a prophetic one.

Our minds and spirits are quite active as we sleep. My spirit guide Francine once said that if there was no difference between our waking mind and our sleeping mind that we would simply go insane. Prophetic dreams are simply one type of dream that you can have – they are not the only kind.

Some people have come to me over the years very concerned with a troubling dream that they feel is prophetic. It is a dream that is in color and has a logical sequence – both signs of a prophetic dream. But the dream turns out to be about their fears, anxieties and unreleased emotions. This dream is a “release” dream.

We all have release dreams. It is a common mistake to confuse a release dream with a prophetic dream. You need to know how to interpret your dreams and trust that if this is an issue you are fearful about – it very well could be a release dream. We need to have release dreams. This is a healthy way to release fears, anxieties, and unexpressed emotions that we deal with in our daily lives.

Connect with your world of dreams to discover your prophetic dreams. Write down your dreams first thing in the morning in a notebook. This useful tool will help you track your accuracy. Remember to go back through your notebook at least once a week to see which dreams are prophetic.

Stay open to the interpretation of your dreams. Sometimes you will not know a dream is prophetic until something occurs in your life to remind you of a dream you had several weeks ago. Keeping your dream journal will help give you confidence in your prophetic dreams. Be sure to write down your dreams quickly in the morning. Sleep researchers say that we misplace half of the information of a dream within five minutes after we wake up, and ninety percent of the dream ten minutes after waking.

May all of your very best dreams come true. Happy dreaming!

Love always,

Sylvia Browne

I'll never forget that as a child of 11 my mother was at the foot of my bed as I was going to sleep and said something , which I cant remember. The next day I discovered she had been reported as missing. I guess she was telling me she was alright. Within 2 weeks they found her body floating in the Mohawk River. This has stayed with me over 50 years. I can still see her face.

Six months after my Dad died, he appeared to me during the night while I was sleeping. I could smell him, (he used to smoke a pipe). He died after many years of illness, yet he looked and seemed quite well. He held me and somehow i knew that all would be well. Such peace and happiness I felt from him. Wonderful experience. Was this an astral travel for me? Thanks, dls

Hi Sylvia, I have read most of your books.I've had color dreams as far back as I can remember & most have come to pass, so my family has said if you dream bad about me DON"T TELL ME.They all say I am a prophetic dreamer. I also travel in my sleep as I was waking one nite I felt like I was being smothered by invisible force & couldn't move .It scared me ,but after reading one of your books I realized it was my spirit coming back to my body.I've dreamed 19 times of women being preg. & sure enough they were .I knew before they did.I always knew my daughters & D. inlaw were preg BEFORE they knew.I heard a voice tell me .S Z.

I use to have much more defined dreams. And could divide them into types The worry dreams {trying to get some place on a bus and realizing your lost type} Out of body {not really a dream} The sense is you are in real time and space and a sense of presence as if you are really there.and it is some where you are familiar with.an actual place you know. And then the one's that are so rich in color and detail that it is better then any perfect day you have ever had You feel the air it has a weight, And the sounds are evocative you feel more real then real. My prophetic dream are mundane and common usually doing some thing I find my self doing at some other time. ie looking in a mirror at someones house and then later being at that house and remembering the dream. And knowing I hadn't know that person when I had had the dream.

Thanks Sylvia, love you much. Dreams; my dreams are always in color; and I had many prophetic dreams; and I tell my friend Eric about them even my neighbor Barbara; but I really don't get the full picture why I'm having these dreams over the years; and another thing my friend Eric we grow up on the same street now we're older ,and we're in the same apartments. I wonder about him is he that soul mate that I think he is from a past life? Sylvia; I really need a answer to that it's driving me nuts. Thank you so kindly, God Bless You, and your family. From a old tired soul Tina.

Hi Sylvia, My husband had a dream last night where someone was tugging at his arm. His loud groaning sounds woke me. I woke him & he said he was lucid dreaming. He knew he was dreaming & he kept calling out for me to wake him from this nightmare. This happens to him often. Usually someone is trying to poke him in the stomach. What kind of a dream is this? He had a brother who died a few years ago. Could he just be trying to get his attention? Love you Sylvia, Debbie

Dear Sylvia, I have had prophetic dreams all my life! Though for years I didn't recognize them as such. Then my husband gifted me with your Book of Dreams. It opened the doors for even more dream-state experiences and even the remembrance of astral travel! How exciting! I have always looked to my dreams for guidance and answers and now, after reading your book, I know when I am being comforted by a loved one from the other side, releasing unresolved emotions, or getting a glimpse of what is to come. A most recent dream, or more like an experience, was when I saw myself flying around my bedroom. I remember the ability to move through my bedroom furniture and being upside down next to the ceiling fan. I was wearing a long, white, flowing gown and I remember flying so fast, my hair blew in the wind. I suddenly landed back in my bed just as I "awoke" or entered consciousness and could not get back to sleep. For I was overcome with a sense of freedom and sheer joy. The next day at work, a colleague, whom I didn't really know, approached me to say that she had had a dream about me the night before. She said that in the dream I was wearing a long white gown and told her that I was 9 1/2 months pregnant. She was teary-eyed as she stated that she had a feeling that I knew the significance of that dream and that it had nothing to do with a baby. I became so emotional because at that very moment I knew that her dream only confirmed mine and that I was about to birth a seed that had been planted in me for a long time...my first book! This happens to me alot. Perfect strangers or vague associates tell me of their dreams of me and they are always in alignment with the projects that I am working on, in particular, my book! I think it's the other side reassuring me that I am supposed to write this book. Thank you, Sylvia!Your book was the key to unlock my destiny. Peace and Blessings to you!
