Meeting My Angel - And Why I Switched to Decaf

Hello, my name is Abby Beal and I am the moderator for the Angel Blog. This blog is all about angels! We hope that you will share your thoughts and experiences about angels with us.

I always knew that angels existed—but didn’t really think so much about them until I was twenty-five. It was then that I was introduced to my angels.

I was getting ready for work one morning when I heard a voice say “don’t go to work!” I was very startled, because I knew I heard the voice, but it wasn’t an actual voice. I ignored it and kept getting ready. I heard it again: “don’t go to work today!” except this time two hands held me quite still so I couldn’t move. I was pretty shaken up—I decided I better drink decaf coffee that day!

Work that day was pretty routine; I was a secretary at the time. I took my lunch break and the office manager asked me to run an errand.

Driving back to the office, I turned the wheel to go into the office parking lot and as I turned the wheel—WHAM! A truck hit me from behind. My car sped through the parking lot. I knew these moments were happening in mere seconds, but they felt like a whole hour long. I could feel hands holding me across the chest as the car flew across the parking lot. My brakes weren’t working. I pulled the emergency brake and the car stopped inches before hitting the brick wall we all parked next to.

Shakily I got out of the car to survey the damage. My trunk was pretty banged up. The truck driver took one look at me getting out of the car and drove away. I could hear an ambulance siren in the distance and realized it was coming for me. People started pouring out of our office complex.

After that experience I understood with my whole heart that there were truly angels. I started taking workshops and reading books to learn more about angels, spirituality and metaphysics.

Well, that is my first angel story. I am sure you have some angel stories too. When did you meet your angels?

Hi, I'm Jeanne Zirkle and I have always believed in Angels, but it wasn't until an almost near death head on collision. I have had premanitions for 20yrs now, visual and just hits me any where i'm at. I knew for 3mos there would be a car coming head on on this one stretch of the road going home. Everyday i felt it in my stomach turning and my breath would get very short and my heart would race. But this one night on December 19, 1998 I wasn't thinking about the road ahead of me i was thinking about the Christmas party i as going to when i got home. Meanwhile ahead of me in that exact location as i came over the hill there it was!!!! It's dark outside and 50ft...yes 50ft ahead of me in my lane was a car with his head-lamps coming right at me. To my left i was and 18-wheeler, motorhome, full size pick-up and van. There was no where to go. It happened so fast, as i saw him continue coming right at me i knew i had to go into the gravel. Just as i turned onto the gravel shoulder i felt these pair of hands on top of my hands ever so gently holding my hands directing me to safety. I felt her telling me not to touch the breaks just hold on tight and the car will slow down. The scary part was the on coming car was still in my lane and passed me at a high speed as my angel was helping me. When it was all over and i was resting for a moment and my heart coming back down to normal i had just realized that was my angel helping me and directing me. I must of thanked her 50 times that night as i had a 6yr daughter to go home too. Gosh it's been 11yrs and i have chills right now writing this. Yes, there is angels for anyone that is not sure please believe us when we share our stories. Thank you for reading mine...Jeanne :)

The word “angel” actually comes from the Greek word aggelos, which means “messenger.” The matching Hebrew word mal'ak has the same meaning. Sometimes, the Bible uses these words for human beings: * ordinary people who carry messages (Job 1:14; Luke 7:24; 9:52) * prophets (Isaiah 42:19; Malachi 3:1) * priests (Malachi 2:7) * church leaders (Rev 1:20) Sometimes, it speaks figuratively of things or events as “messengers”… * the pillar of cloud (Exodus 14:19) * pestilence or plagues (2 Samuel 24:16-17) But it usually describes the whole range of spirits whom God has created, including both good and evil angels, and special categories such as cherubim, seraphim, and the archangel.

That's right Maylin. Losing your job can be painful but well it is nothing compared to losing your life. Well actually I honestly believe that angels don't really care if you follow them or not. They will just continue doing their jobs and continue to protect you.

yes, that is true Dartz. your idea is great. i really think that it is better to listen to your angels. it is better to lose your job than your life. but the author should be thankful because her angel still guided her even if she did not listen to her angels.

That'd make me switch to decaf pretty fast. Me being me, I'd probably just listen and call in sick. Say that my spiritual adviser told me not to leave the house.

Green, about what you have said to Melvin, i agree with you. we all die and that is our destiny. some people are not saved not because they don't ask for god's help but i believe that it is because they are meant to leave this world. and for us who are still in this place, we still have things to finish.

Thank you Green. and you are right, we just have to optimistic and think that our loved ones are in good hands. maybe they are far away from us but they may not be too far because they are with us all the time, watching and guiding us also just like our angels and God.

Maylin, that is exactly my point. I didn't read your comment before replying to Melvin. Sometimes we lose love ones and it is very hard on us. But maybe they die because they have fulfilled their mission in life. We all have to go, and when the time is up, there is nothing we can do. When a loved one dies, I console myself by telling myself that they have gone to a better and more beautiful place and are waiting for us to come

Melvin, a fact of life is that people have to die. And when we die, we move on to a better place. When a person's time is up, he has to go. Some of us are meant to stay here for a long time and others are meant to be here for a short time only. Sometimes people are not helped because they do not ask for it. They might not even believe in God. I believe that if you always follow Gods commands - believe in Him, worship him alone, help the poor and need and lead a good and modest life, you will always find help when you need it. Sometimes God doesn't save people because they do not include him in their lives

It is true Melvin. Sometimes we ask ourselves why we have to lose people that we love. And we always say that maybe God has a plan. it is really hard to accept and understand that but we just have to trust Him. and i think that it is really their time. i believe that if it really our time to go, we can't do anything about that because God is the only one who knows when we have to leave.
