Animal Totems
by Sylvia Browne

Many people have asked me "What is a totem?" A totem is an animal spirit. We entrust our totems to stand by us throughout our lifetime.

Every member of the animal kingdom has attributes that our own spirits can emulate and connect with our own life theme. My son Chris' totem is the grizzly bear. This is a symbol of his life theme "warrior."

While some people may never actually see their totems, the energy of these animal spirits is always present with them. My own totem is the elephant, a symbol of strength and loyalty.

Your totem serves several purposes during your life. They serve as sentinels that stand guard on our behalf. This means if our totem senses a dark spirit or feels that we are somehow being threatened, they will instinctively try to scare off our enemies. They will do this as animals do: by growling, hissing or even acting aggressively.

Our totems also offer us positive energy just from their presence. Having this animal spirit in your life offers you many benefits.

Even the highest angels, the Principalities have totems. Their totem is the lion. Lions are known around the world as a symbol of both great strength and pride. This is the perfect totem for Father God's army of angels. All angels have totem spirits and they can call upon animals to intercede on your behalf when you need help or protection.

Sylvia Browne is without question, "America's #1 Psychic," an internationally known psychic and medium.

Damione, I am sorry that you are caught up in all those charges. Sometimes, although we clean up our act, the past always has a way of coming back to haunt us. My advice is for you to continue living a decent and honest life no matter what. Good deeds replace evil ones and you will soon be living a peaceful life

Me again (see post before this one) - I know the big cat on my chest that morning was a spirit bobcat or lynx - I'm not positive which, but I had the sense that it was a male bobcat. Thanks. Kathy S.

Hi Sylvia, Thank you and all your friends for making this site available. I hope someone here can answer this for me. I've always had a lot of animals around me in this life, and I've been strongly drawn to a couple different species - both domestic and wild. A few years ago, I woke up at the first light of dawn one morning and had a big longhaired cat on my chest - it looked like a brown tabby maine coone. I thought it was my cat Iolaus and I scratched him behind the ear, smiled, and said hello to him and he arched his head into my scratching and stood up, looking like he appreciated the scratches. When he did, I kept my hand behind his ear and had to stretch my arm full length to keep it there. His feet were huge, he was a shaggy dark tabby pattern. He didn't weigh an ounce and his feet were as big as my hand. He stood looking at me for a few moments, seemed to pull the corners of his mouth up in a grin, then turned and walked down my legs, jumped off the bed and disappeared into the mists that I'd just noticed were surrounding my bed. When he turned, his tail was only a couple inches long. I didn't see his gender, but have had a sense it was a male. Was he my totem and does he have a name - and is he a he? Do I have any others also? Thanks. Kathy

@Dawn: Sometimes I answer them, but then again, I'm not someone who works here, so I only really do it if I have time.

yeah i agree Paula. we should not judge Sylvia. if she was arrested before, then so what right? she shares a lot of good and interesting articles and stories. and she is still an inspiration to many people which this issue will not destroy.
