How do I find my spirit guide? Christian- California

I have prayed for so long to find mine and be able to communicate, but no luck. I have tried meditation and just talking to them, but I have no idea their name or even what sex they are. It gets frustrating to be so lost in this life and not be able to feel like I have anyone or help.

I'm having trouble communicating with mine. In fact, i don't even see anybody when I try the two things sylvia's told us about, with the beach and gazebo. I never see a person, i'm always alone. Maybe i'm doing it wrong or something?

I too am having trouble communicating with my spirit guide, I dont know if i am meditating right ,it seems as though my mind travels and Like the others have said God is whom I should talk to, & of course I do but I so Iam lookin for guidance and some answers, i do not knw maybe Iam just not focused enough-but i'll keep you posted

IM HOPING THIS WILL HELP: I will relate to my experience hoping it will click with others. After I read Sylvia's book "the otherside an back..." she said meditate for three days an the name will come to you... I started the first day an "Rachael" came to me...in a sweet plain voice...different then Holy spirit an Gods voice...I blocked it out at first thinking:...no I need 3 days...Sylvia said 3 days..."Rachael"..came again...it was confirmed by a fiend that called out of the blue I hadnt talked to for 3 years...her name?? You guessed it "Rachael"...then I crack open scriptures...what story does my eyes fall on ??? ...yea baby!!! story of "Rachael"... I refered back to Sylvia's book for yet another "CONFORMATION"... An it was to take ...UP TO or WITHIN 3 days...thats not set in stone an all inclusive rule...everyone is different. What im saying is ask to be shown in ways that you can relate to within your own invironment...Im tellin ya "PAY ATTENTION TO THE SIGNS" Now my guide(bless her pea pickn heart!)may have a name I gave her...but she let me know she likes it!!! It became a tighter more personal relationship with her an God... as far as Gods voice??? Whole other ball game!!! an whole other comment!!! Blessing to ya all, Candi ************** PS. Sylvia says names of your spirit guide are not important. You can call them what ever name you want. I named mine cassie. I'm not sure if it is a male or female. When I asked my spirit guide I felt like it was a female. Some times it feels like a male. So I asked cassie if they was a male to change it to CASS when ever I said cassie. Like sylvia says I don't think they care what you call them. That and I think that a spirit guide and the holy spirit are two diff. Things. I think God trusted them to help us with our chart and the holy spirit is str8 from Him & Mother God for extra help? I'm not sure but that's what I think. What I have a prob. With is how do you tell what voice is yours & what voice is theirs? I don't want to add or take away from what they're saying? Sylvia can u help us? the same question I would have talking to Mother & Father God?
