The Healing Power Of Stones

Stones have been used to heal for centuries. Certain stones carry with them a lineage of great mystical power. Even, today, in some countries certain stones are held so sacred that they can only be displayed in certain ways or touched by certain types of cloth.  No, I am not talking about those clear stones called diamonds that we love to wear as jewelry.

Many stones are associated with physical parts of the body, emotions, luck, energy, psychic ability, and zodiac signs. These stones can be worn in jewelry, carried in pouches, displayed in homes or offices, or placed on the body.

A Few Popular Stones

Clear Quartz- A very commonly found stone associated with amplifying energy, intuition, general pain relief, drawing away negative energy. It has been called The Master Healer.

Rose Quartz- Commonly known as the Love stone. This light pink stone is thought to heal the emotions, encourage love, and help with kidneys and headaches. 

Moonstone – A milky white to silvery looking stone known to increase intuition, unblock feelings, balance female hormonal cycles, emotions, and aid in new beginnings. It is said to be beneficial for those born in the month of July.

Hematite- A black stone with an iridescent look referred to as the Stone of the Mind.  It is said to aid in memory, realization, mental clarity, anemia, and inflammation.

 Liz, Amethyest can ward off negativity especailly from the environment. It can ease headaches and calm the nervous system. It works well with the third eye chakra for awareness.

 I found this most interesting. As a Leo, I know my birthstone is Peridot, but I'm not particularly fond of that stone. In terms of healing stones, I'm not sure which one would be most suited to me and would like to find out. I did come across a soapstone elephant at a flea market this past weekend, and just touching it was a very pleasant experience. I wished I'd bought it. If it's meant to be, perhaps it will be there next time I go. Any advice on healing stones for my zodiac sign, and acute inflammatory conditions, would be most appreciated.
