Do All Pets Go To Heaven?

by Sylvia Browne

Anyone that knows me truly knows just how important my pets have been over the years. The loss of a beloved pet can hit you just as deeply as the loss of just about anyone else in your life. Our pets are our beloved companions and friends—they are always by our side, ready to listen.

Many people have asked me if their pets really do go to heaven. If animals are on The Other Side. They are always relieved to discover that the answer is "yes." You will be reunited with your pet on The Other Side when you go Home. They will meet you and they will be as lively and as full of personality as they ever were when you step out of the Tunnel.

My new book All Pets Go To Heaven: The Spiritual Lives of the Animals We Love is coming out January 2009. In this book I discuss just how spiritual animals truly are. Some may not realize this, but animals need to learn no spiritual lessons: they actually come to Earth just to live their lives with us. When you think about it, it is so meaningful to know that your pet is here only to live their life with you. Animals are pure and their hearts are full of love.

Thank you Maylin, I have lost many people in my life, other pets too but none have had this kind of effect on me as Cedees has. The beauty of this dogs spirit was amazing, she always made me feel safe and loved...strange to say that of a pet but she was so much more to all of us. People claim pitbulls are so violent but it is all in the way you love and teach them love. She was a family dog and gaurd dog, people wanted me to breed her because she was so beautiful and so well trained but I refused to because I knew what they would do to the pups. It takes a special person to train them and they need so much love and kindness. When she was a pup she got hit by a car (the woman kept driving)and she kept snapping at the vet from the pain but I called her name and she turned her head and stopped and licked my face. The vet was so shocked at her reaction to me with the amount of pain she was in. I don't know if I am ready for another one, her loss has really hit me hard and my children. I had her cremated so that she will always be with us where ever we go and my oldest said that even after my time comes he will keep her with him. She meant that much to all of us.

that is a very sad and inspiring story Maureen. we all lose someone and something special to us. but what is important is that, we stay strong. getting a new pup is a good way for you to continue your being mother to your pup who died. and you are lucky for having such a great and loving new pet. good luck.

For Merceedes July 18, 2008 My baby, my girl Merceedes died yester at 12:20 am in my arms, she was 11 years old. I had her since she was a 4 week old pup. My sister had just got her sister (Angel, RIP June 2008)and I went to go get one for my son. there were 15 of them, pittbull puppies a breed I was nervous about keeping but that little pup came up to me while all the others were running around and just sat in my lap and went to sleep. She chose me and from that day forward she was always by my side. Through all the pain and sorrow, through the birth of my 3 other shildren she loved and protected us all. She was my companion, my protectior but most of all my best friend, my baby girl. My children rode on her back, played ball with her, ran with her, shared their food with her, she was the most incredible dog you could have ever known and I can't believe she is gone. I layed there on the floor beside her for 3 hours holding her, petting her, telling her how much I loved her and thanked her for chosing me because she blessed my life so much. She went into my bedroom and layed down, didn't respond to anyone until I came in and then I looked at her and cried Cedees! She wagged her tail...I felt "mommy" and ran to her side, that is when I layed beside her. At the end she handed me her paw and looked at me for the last time I could feel her love and I said that it was alright baby, mommy will be fine, I'll take care of the kids too and when my time comes I will find you again and we will take our walks together and play catch. I could swear she smiled and then her stance changed she turned her head and growled at first her eyes widened as if she was on gaurdthen her body rose and it looked like she was running. Then her body twitched 3x and she fell back into my arms. I sobbed like a baby and have not been able to stop crying since then. I'm glad that I was with her till the end and that my children are with their father so I can get a grip on my loss but it is so true she was like my child I loved her that much! RIP my Baby Girl, mommy loved you so much!

Hello Myrna. wow, your husband killed your dog? but why? anyway, i think that your dog is already in the other side and she is watching over you. she knows that you miss her and loves her so much. our pets may be gone but i know that they are with us and they will never leave.

Hi Sylvia, This is so hard for me to write. My husband killed my dog. I love her so much and until today it causes me so much pain and forgetting is so hard. I wasn't there for her and I should have been. Is she okay? Does she come around me and the children?

That is great Diana. it is good that you explained it to your child with the help of Sylvia's book. i think that her books are very helpful and inspiring. i am also amazed that Sylvia gives importance to animals. and i am glad to know that my pets are waiting for me at the other side.

hi Melinda. yeah it is really hard to take care of a pet because their time will really come and it will be hard for us to accept it when that time comes. i agree with you that pets are also angels that are sent to us by God to watch over us.

I've had a lot of pets and animal friends so far, good to know that they'll be in Heaven or whatever it's called this month.

Your books on animal spirits are the best!Especially when you have a small child! It is soo hard to explain to them why the pet died! But your book did miracles! My daughter lost 4 mice & my 14yr. old dog in 1yr. time, I got the books from the library & after reading them several times she looked at me & said "Mom, I think I'm gonna have alot of animals waiting for me!"No more tears, just like that!Thank you, & God Bless you Sylivia!Diana
