The story of Reiki started in Japan with Mikao Usui. In approximately 1922 Usui went to Mount Kurama to mediate and fast. It was during that time he became aware that he had the power to heal. He felt vibrations in his head he then had a knowing that he should share this with the public.
"Rei” means spirit soul and “ki” is the energy that surrounds all life. Reiki is healing that uses the universal life force. The universal life force is available to EVERYONE and best of all it is free. It does not even require that a person “believe” in Reiki for the Reiki to work.
Reiki is taught as hands- on form of healing. The universal life force is channeled through the Reiki healer. The person receiving Reiki is able to restore balance in their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body.
The Reiki Principals
1. Just for today I will give thanks for my many blessings. 2. Just for today I will not worry. 3. Just for today I will not be angry. 4. Just for today I will do my work honestly. 5. Just for today I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing.
How Reiki is taught?
Reiki must be “activated” by a Reiki master through a series of “Attunements.” These attunements raise one’s natural ability to channel the energy. Reiki is taught in three levels. Level 1 (hands on), Level 2 (long distance and sacred symbols), and level 3 (committing integrate one’s with the five principals and being certified to attune others).
Reiki Healers are very easy to find. You can experience the healing and see if it is right for you.
