My dearest Lynne: Every few people know the medical fact that it takes the body up to 24 hours to release certain blood factors that will show a stroke. Depending on what type f stroke and where the stroke originated from will tell most doctors if the patient will survive or will pass when the clot gets to aa place where it cuts off supply to a vital organ (Brain, Lungs) and cause a death. Not all strokes are indicated in the run of the machines that are used in surgery. But Always is pointing to the Left lower leg. Think back and ask yourself: Did your husband ever complain of feeling a throbing pain there, or a sudden rush of warmth? The hospital sent him to a better facility to help save his life, however his life light was blinking and it was his time to go. To: Vikki From Lynne Thank you so much for answering my question. First I want to say that my husband Dan went in for a Thyroidectomy on March 7,2008. They called me the next morning at 7:30 and said the left side of his body wasn't responding that he had a stroke sometime between 12:00am and when they called at 7:30am that they were flying him to Las Vegas Sunrise hospital because their facilities were better equipped for stroke victims. Fine. But why didn't they (the hospital staff where he was at) know exactly when he had the stroke and act on it immediately! That,s our biggest concern. The doctors in Vegas said that if a stroke is treated in a timely manner (within 3 hours or so) people usually do not die? My 5 year old son just had a birthday August 15th. We had a party for him on August 16th. I was thrilled to hear my husband was there. Thank you! I hope he's also there for my birthday on the 13th of November. I will certainly tell Sylvia and Chris about that quilt exchange. Love, Lynne
