Once we get to The Other Side, how can we become a Spirit Guide?

Many people have heard me talk of my wonderful Spirit Guide Francine. She has been with me all of my life. I rely on her wisdom and have loved her for so many years – nearly my entire life. She has been my constant companion and friend. On The Other Side, you too will have the option to become someone’s Spirit Guide. It is an honor to be someone’s Spirit Guide while they are here for an incarnation on earth.

This relationship begins while the two of you are on The Other Side. Someone you know will decide they want to return to earth in an incarnation. They will ask you be their Spirit Guide. This means that they have great trust in you, and they know that they have a great bond with you. The Spirit Guide relationship is a close one – and many Spirit Guide relationships have actually begun centuries before the incarnation has happened.

When you become someone’s Spirit Guide, you must become an expert on them. This means going to the Hall of Records and studying their past lives to know their personalities and life circumstances. A Spirit Guide has lived at least one incarnation on earth, so they have the ability to empathize with the experience of being human. This is a great gift to this relationship.

There are times that emotions may seem very “alien” to both Angels and The Council – but not to Spirit Guides. You, as a Spirit Guide, know and understand what it is like to be human because you have experienced life on earth at least once and you know its joys and its challenges.

The Spirit Guide must learn about the person’s temperament and become just like a best friend that this person can depend on for their entire life. Spirit Guides know how people will react to situations and typically how they will feel. This helps a Spirit Guide know how best to approach their charge. They learn how to take the best tone in advising them and developing this relationship.

There are times a Spirit Guide must be the ideal combination of compassion and objectivity. They need to have understanding and empathy, but they also must watch the situation carefully. Remember that we chart out our lives before we come to earth – so our Spirit Guides expect certain life lessons to come. We came to earth to learn life lessons. Spirit Guides are there for their charges to assist them in learning their life lessons.

Being someone’s Spirit Guide is a profound and wonderful relationship. There can be no more powerful thing than helping another human being on earth.
