Information Gathering and Problem Solving Dreams During Your Sleep
by Sylvia Browne

It's happened to all of us. We fall asleep worried about a problem and wake up with the solution. Or we wake up when we fell asleep the night before. So where does that new problem in our sleep that we've spent hours or days or weeks wrestling with during our waking hours? Why does the advice to "sleep on it" really seem to work?

Did you know that Mozart received many of his most glorious compositions through dreams? Or that the theory of glorious compositions through dreams? Or that the theory of relativity came to Albert Einstein in a dream? Dreams inspired everything from Elias Howe's invention of the sewing machine to Thomas Edison's invention of the light bulb. Dmitry Mendeleyev, a brilliant nineteenth-century chemist and physicist, re-created the Periodic Table during his waking hours after it appeared to him it its entirety in a dream. Robert Lewis Stevenson struggled for days over a short story that refused to take shape until a dream transformed it into the classic "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." And if Dr. Jonas Salk had chosen to ignore his dreams, the polio vaccine might have never existed. Lucky guesses? Coincidences? Preconceived solutions that just happened to reveal themselves during the relaxation of sleep? The words "fat chance" leap to mind.

Fortunately, it's not just extraordinary people like those who are given information and answers during the night. For the last thirty or forty years I've been hearing story after story, and had the firsthand wonder myself, in which we "ordinary people" have awakened with more knowledge than we had when we dozed off. My idea of logic dictates that if it didn't come from inside of us, it came from outside of us and each of us is gifted enough, whether we're conscious of it or not, to retrieve that knowledge and put it to use.

There are two ways we receive information and solutions to our problems while we sleep: through telepathy and through astral travel. Both are marvelously helpful God-given blessings, and both come as naturally to us as breathing once our noisy, skeptical, chronically interfering conscious minds are at rest.

Sylvia Browne is without question, "America's #1 Psychic," an internationally known psychic and medium.

I had a dream about a family member the other night. Someone came up and broke his nose on my behalf. Does anyone know the meaning of a broken nose, I have looked this up in a few dream dictionaries and can not seem to find anything related to specifically a broken nose. Thanks!

Sylvia...I keep having beautiful dreams about my ex-boyfriend and I being back together, but in reality, we've not spoken for a month. Is this just wishful dreaming, or is there a reconcilliation coming soon? Thank you for every one of your books!! Love, Beth

My name is Estella and I had a dream. This dream had stuck with me for a long time. I dreamed that I was in a gleaming white robe and I was in a area that had a white shining mist and I was standing in front of a man seating in a gleaming white robe as well. I could not see his face, it was blocked out by a golden light that was very bright. The area was made of glass and had all kinds of jewels on the side walk. I still am trying to watch for the meeting of this dream. I am a Virgo born on September the third.

When my husband recently passed away, I had a dream about him. I dreamed that we were in a big banquet room with big wooden steps leading up to big wooden doors. My deceased husband was running around getting the banquet hall ready for some big feast. He was laughing and joking around like he used to do. At the end of my dream he ran off into a set of elevators. I tried to follow him but couldn't make the elevator in time. He smiled at me when the elevator doors closed. I saw the elevator go up to the 21st floor and waited for the elevator to come back down again. The elevator never did. That's when I woke up. I think I actually traveled to heaven and my husband was sending me a message that he is happy and that it's not my time to be in Heaven yet. I felt a lot better after my dream. I just wish I could find the answers in my dreams about finding that perfect job for myself, so I no longer have to worry anymore about money problems. Sheila Davidson prtysad@rogers.com

I don't usually remember my dreams, but, last night, I dreamt that I had forgotten to buy the shredded cheese for the breakfast burritoes I am making for the guest staying at our lakehouse this weekend. No big deal, but, after being in grocery stores for most of this week to make sure I had everything, this was a welcomed dream. I was in the store today and remembered the cheese.

Hi Sylvia, Dreams are amazing...I too am given information from the dreamworld whether it be the death of a loved one, poetry, art projects or "lessons". I have reoccurring dreams of being in a "classroom" for lack of a better word. No one is in a "body" we are all just ethereal..and we are being taught lessons. It is usually a lesson about taking care of the earth, or love etc. They are very interesting and I wish I could remember more of them. I also have reoccurring dreams of a "spirit" that comes into my body and speaks through me...the problem is, she speaks some type of asian language and I can't understand a word she says...at least not consciously lol. I have been told, through a channeling (through someone else) that I am supposed to write. I wonder if this spirit is trying to tell me what to write and if so I wish she spoke English or I understood Asian lol. I have always felt that because of our "density" as humans, that spirit has difficulty getting through to us sometimes. So when we are asleep and we are more open, it is easier for the communication to occur. Whether through pictures or words, it is easier for most of us to "accept" those pictures and words in dreamform as opposed to experiencing them in "real life" and calling them visual or auditory hallucinations :) I think that any dream you remember has a message for you. There is much symbolism in dreams and although there does seem to be some archetypal similarities, I do believe that only the dreamer can interpret the dream. What a gift dreams are :) and you too Sylvia, Thanks! Katherine

Dreaming, to me, is of great importance also. I have come to believe that I have psychic dreams about people who are close to me passing away...The first time this happened was a little over 4 years ago and it was about my husband. I dreamt that I was attending his funeral, with many people coming up to my children and I to offer their condolences. I don't know how I knew it was his funeral, but I just did. Also, I didn't know the circumstance of how he would die. Too, I was sobbing in my dream, and I awoke still crying. I took it as a warning, told him about the dream, and tried to tell him I strongly felt he was going to die. Well needless to say, he brushed it off, and about 3 months later he died in a motorcycle accident...The 2nd instance was back in July of this year and it was about my friend. In the dream I was standing beside her holding her hand, and she was lying in a hospital bed. Again, I knew in my dream she was going to pass away. During the dream, I was comforting her and in return, she told me that a woman named Helen is always with me. Well, about a few weeks later I found out that she was dying. The doctors told her that she had 6 months to 1 year to live. I told her about my dream, but I didn't tell her that I felt it would happen sooner. Well, she just passed away on Oct. 19th, (I believe that is your birthday Sylvia), and again, it was about 3 months after my dream...Some people think this gift is a horrible one, but I don't see it that way. I look at these messages as God and Azna giving me a chance to utilize the time I have left with these friends and family to the fullest. Also, to try to assist and comfort them any way I can. It took me a long time to realize that, to me, it's not about saving them, it's about comforting them and spending as much time as I can with them before they leave this planet...Thank you so much for allowing all of us to share our stories...God Bless, Angela B.

I'm sorry....I'm Penny from Florida....I love the science of dreams....I just posted about the # 7....Also I want to share a dream of Astral Travel....I missed my dog so much when he passed that years later I visited him and literally felt his hair and hugged him. We were in a beautiful green pasture, field, meadow....it was "so" real that I know it was...It was his way of telling me he was fine and happy.....I have also taken an astral trip with my living grandson to the wonderful, colorful world of Alice in Wonderland and othe characters...We were running all over the place seeing everything we could, much like being at Disney land or somewher. It seemed so real...The next morning when I woke up , the first thing I noticed was my feet throbing and sore....
