Common Dreams
The Meaning of Common Dreams Dreams, interpreting your bad dreams, learn what they mean! Find out now FREE! There are several different types of common dreams that are shared by everyone. Here is a rundown of the most common ones.

Fear of being caught naked is a common dream. In this type of dream, you are usually caught walking around in a public place like a mall wearing no clothes. In extreme versions of this type of dream, you are onstage. Low self esteem triggers the insecurity symbolizes in these dreams. Being naked in a dream is about feeling vulnerable, laughed at, or humiliated unless it is a sexual dream in which case it may be more about a desire to have sex or a desire to have a lover appreciate your body. Nudity can also symbolize being caught in a lie or off guard.

Another very common dream is the chase dream. If you dream about being chased, it can mean that your problems are really building up in your real life. It can symbolize evasive behavior on your part. You may have trouble dealing with a problem. One key to understanding these dreams is to identify whoever it is that is pursuing you in the dream. In terms of dream movies, these ones can have a flair to them that is as exciting as attending an adventure film.

Another common dream game with the subconscious is the dream that your teeth is falling out. Of course, reality usually wins in this case. Your teeth aren’t really falling out. Common dream scenarios include having your teeth crumbling in your hands or your teeth falling out one by one when you touch them lightly. This is a dream about losing the foundation of your beliefs. Your teeth crumble because you believe that your life is crumbling in real life.

Loss of teeth can also mean sexual insecurity in a dream as smiling is used so much in flirting. It can mean fear of getting old or impotence. Sometimes dream pictures actually reveal who it is you are afraid of being humiliated in front of. Your teeth fall out in front of that person in the dream.

Yet another common dream is the one that you are falling. Falling dreams are significant as they can indicate ill health. They also can symbolize a loss of control over situation in your life. According to Freud, a falling dream can also symbolize giving in to a sexual urge.

Failing a test is also a very common dream. Experience the fear of not being accepted, not being prepared, or not being good enough. Dreams of this nature are an indication that you are being judged.

When practicing dream interpretation, it is important to remember that not all dreams mean the same thing for each individual even if the symbol is the same. The main thing that you need to remember is that one should never neglect the importance of your own personal history, which often figures heavily into these dreams.

Sylvia, what does it mean when I dream of flying? I dream I am flying high above the earth, then I end the dream by being upright, and decending slowly to the earth. I even have awakened by the sound of AH,,,,,,,then my feet touch the ground. I am usually in a beautiful field of flowers. What is that ?

I don't think Sylvia actually reads or is responsible for this dream site. She has mentioned it before on TV(Montel) and in her books that she is NOT affiliated with a lot of the other advertisers. I don't think anyone ever get's a response or you have to call some 1-800 number .......my own esp says I am not going to get duped with a huge phone bill thinking Sylvia Brown is actually reading and responding to my problems. She is a VERY busy woman and I truly do not believe she reads any of the posts. This is just a COMMENT thread not a give me a reading thread. Read the small print use your logic.....live life in Gods eyes.

My mother past to the other side 14 years ago. I often see her sitting in a large house on a porch in a lounge chair with all these animal spirits flying around her. She loved & had many animals in life. I have had dreams of falling, driving a car without a top on, but not recently. Having trouble remembering my dreams lately.

Thanks for the info. I looked it up and saw it was a family name originating in Ireland. The first thing I thought of was a friend that I have that was born in Ireland but was adopted. I wonder what her birth name is. Other than that I don't know of any ties to the word. All I know that in the dream it is so vivid but not scary. Im just sitting there thinking thats odd..meanwhile my hand has flaming letters in it. I haven't had the dream for a few days though. Thanks for the help.

The common dream I have is where I am the passenger in a vehicle, usually a car, and we are going up hill on a normal road or a very high over-pass. We go up and up and up and I just know that when we come down the other side there will be no road because there is nothing on either side, but we come down and it’s there, but then up another hill. Eventually the hills get so high and scary it wakes me.

I have an avid fear of losing my teeth when I am awake, so when I dream about it, I really get upset. I always attributed the dreams of my teeth falling out to stress. It makes sense that it may describe "things in your life falling apart." I suppose I should take the dream in stride and know that I may need to evaluate the things that could be causing me stress.

Hi Nicole, I just did a little research online and found out that Pendergast is a family name. Do you perhaps know anyone with that name? I know dreams about fire usually have to do with raging emotions. I am not sure what yours mean.
