Getting To Know Your Spirit Guide

For a while there, it seemed that the popular trend was for everyone who consulted a medium to get the name “Running Water,” “Standing Bear,” “Silver Fox,” or something like that for their guides. Now I’m not trying to dispute the fact that there may be some Native American spirit guides, but it just seems that during my many decades of research, I would have encountered one of them. However, as with everything else, if you do hear a name, roll it around in your mind, see if it feels right, and then use that name – or change it, as I did with Francine, my own Spirit Guide. Just do whatever feels comfortable to you. Even though it makes it more personal to call a guide by name, I fully believe that it doesn’t matter what you call them – as long as you do call on them.

Some guides will appear to us as children when we’re kids ourselves. My son Christopher, whose guide’s name is Charlie, came to him in the form of a little boy and grew up with him. Francine, on the other hand, and grew up with him. Francine, on the other hand, always seemed to be about 30 years of age and stayed that way. This is somewhat aggravating to me, since I’m now much older and she’s still 30!

I’ve done enough research to believe that given my childhood (which featured a somewhat absentee mother figure), Francine took on the persona of an older and matriarchal person, while Christopher, who had a strong mother figure (me), might have chosen to have his guide be a helping buddy. In fact, imaginary playmates are spirit guides 99 percent of the time. Guides will come in as children to make it easier for their young charges to learn from them.

 There has been a total of 3 times that I would be sleeping and awoken by a man standing at my bed side. I can see a figure, but can not make out the face. It appears to be blurry.  Sylvia, over 11 yrs ago when one of my sons was terminally ill with cancer I remember meeting my spirit guide thru my dream one night. I went to sleep praying and in my dream I saw all my little heart shaped containers in my room with the tops slightly off to the side.I felt a presence and asked if I should be afraid,when I knew I was okay I asked for a name and written out on the floor with pink rosebuds "Maria".  Hello Slyvia. Hello all. I think you are truly an amazing person that has helped many people. I have to admit I read my Slyvia messages,AngelMessages, and go to the website everyday. However I still need to read some of your books. I have many questions rightnow about finding my spirit guide. I actually do pray to The Father,LordJesus&HolyGhost, but I have been asking them about spiritquides and who is mine.  Can a relative who has passed on become your spirit guide? Can you have more than one? All my life I've felt that my grandpa, who died when I was 4 was guiding me. My other grandpa passed on 4 years ago and now I hear him too. Even if they aren't my actual spirit guides it's nice to know that they are there keeping me company.

 I would love to know my spirit guide, and my sons. I have prayed for angel contact as well as spirit guide. I do it nearly everynight. I do not think i hear from them. I feel the same and hear nothing. My son is mentally disabled, I would love to know his guides name, Charles is his name. Monica is mine. I have experienced some evil entacies (?) while taking care of my mother in my home, i was strong and mentally battled them. A priest stated he fills i am more than what i seem.???  I have no idea who my spirit guide is,although I have been through so much as a child and an adult..I was born in a small place here on earth..that place held alot of magic..I've witnessed alot as a child and grew strong with it as an adult..I really and desperatly want to know who my spirit guide is....God bless you sylvia from the bottom of my heart..marie lesperance

 I don't know my spirit guide's name but I remember having an imaginary playmate when I was a kid. Yet I don't know when I stopped hearing her. Thank you Sylvia for all that you do and God bless

 I believe my spirit guide is Onna. When ever I need her, I call her name and a answers comes to me very soon. Like when I am waiting for a light to change, I call on her to change it green.  I think I have met my Spirit Guide in a Dream. The dream was so beautiful and vivid. I'm almost curtain he was my Spirit Guide if it is possible for a woman to have a male Spirit Guide.
