GOD is all loving and forgiving! You people have to stay away from churches that brainwash everyone with there written nonsense. Churches were created to bring people together to love GOD. I Pray to GOD directly by myself not through a priest. Religion has caused more war than peace. There is only one GOD! Love and pray to GOD no matter what your religion is!

Dear Debra, I am an EMT, and I have seen some horrific things. I do not know why bad things happen. I don't think anyone can really tell you for sure. I certainly can't pretend to know why some people have to suffer while others do not ~or~ why some people are miserable while others appear eternally blissful. Even as a child raised in a hell, fire, and damnation religion, I have never been able to see God as this vain person who sits on His throne and regularly punishes and damns people. I am not a God fearing person. I am highly spiritual, and I do believe that God is good. No one wants to lose someone they love. Still, you have got to believe that you are not being punished. See it as a blessing and a privilege that you had the experience of loving, knowing, and being loved in return by your loved one. I think Garth Brooks' song, "The Dance" helps to describe it all. "You could've missed the pain, but then you would have had to miss the dance." Get yourself some reading material on the stages of grief. This will help you to understand more about the process of grief and the stages you are in and will be going through. It will also help you to find positive ways of dealing with your grief. There are many helplines and counseling centers that can help lead you in the right direction as well. Be gentle with yourself. Grief is not an easy process to go through. Allow yourself to feel your feelings by letting them wash through you without resistance. This process helps you to get past them. I always try to remind myself that we are not here one fraction of a second longer than we are supposed to be. This is of no comfort when it is someone you love, but eventually it does help to make a difference. As for Sylvia, it is my opinion that she does answer as many questions as she possibly can. The numerous lists she contends with are phenomenal. I'm not even sure that she reads this. She can't possibly have the time. I sometimes wonder if she doesn't have to schedule in breathing. It is boggling, to me, to see how many people out there want a piece of her, and I am sure that I have only seen a small portion of the number of individuals she tries to answer questions for. I've never been lucky enough to have my questions answered either, but I am confident that she does her best to get to as many as she can. Hang in there Debra. You will get through this. Take it one breath at a time until you can work up to one step at a time. From one minute to the next and one day to the next, you can do it. Most sincerely, ~Mandi

and one more thing, if your so committed to god and his work, why don't you answer all the people that you can, to assure them of your faith?

not to offend anyone, and i am a true believer in god, and that jesus christ died on the cross for our sins, but alot of the answers i hear for any problems, fears, losses and needs, seem to reply back with the same generic answers to every persons problems. whether it be a death of a loved one or a financial problem. and the answer always seems to be that god won't give us more than we can handle. then tell me why there are so many suicides every year and tell me why you have to sit by and watch a loved one die from a horrid disease like cancer, when you would gladley take it from them, but instead your forced to feel helpless, and have to reassure them that everything will be alright, when your not the one that makes that call? and in their final hours you have to promise them eternal peace and tell them its ok to go home and would just as soon die right by their side, cos you don't want to live without them, and you wish it had been you instead, cos' it hurts so badley to see them suffer , and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. what kind of life lesson is that, to the person who had to live. i'm not sure? and if there's one thing in this life i would'nt want to do, is to watch a loved one take her last gasp of life, while you sat there and could'nt stop it, well that to me was to hard to handle! i've become bitter and the only two lessons i learned is not to smoke cos' it causes cancer and god has realy hurt me and my faith. was it some kind of punishment to me? cos' i'll never forget the final hours of her suffering or watching and hearing her struggle and fight for air, something that we all take for granted. she did not deserve this! and if she did by god's rules i must be in for a horrid death. and i fear that. so if i believe why should i fear a loving and forgiving god?and where was her guardian angel?
