Do All Pets Go To Heaven?

by Sylvia Browne

Anyone that knows me truly knows just how important my pets have been over the years. The loss of a beloved pet can hit you just as deeply as the loss of just about anyone else in your life. Our pets are our beloved companions and friends—they are always by our side, ready to listen.

Many people have asked me if their pets really do go to heaven. If animals are on The Other Side. They are always relieved to discover that the answer is "yes." You will be reunited with your pet on The Other Side when you go Home. They will meet you and they will be as lively and as full of personality as they ever were when you step out of the Tunnel.

My new book All Pets Go To Heaven: The Spiritual Lives of the Animals We Love is coming out January 2009. In this book I discuss just how spiritual animals truly are. Some may not realize this, but animals need to learn no spiritual lessons: they actually come to Earth just to live their lives with us. When you think about it, it is so meaningful to know that your pet is here only to live their life with you. Animals are pure and their hearts are full of love.

I love you Sylvia and keep writing those fantastic books. My beloved cat died about five years ago,and I miss her still. Animals certainly have souls and go to the other side. In fact my family and I felt her presence after she died. My husband felt her by his pants leg. I felt her as I was sitting on my sofa. I felt her walking on top of my sofa where I was resting my head. My cat always did that and sat behind me putting her paw on my head. And there have been other instances of her presence. To have a pet and be loved by them is wonderful. But when they die and leave us it is just like losing a close member of the family. Of course they were a close member of the family, who ask just to be loved and nurtured.

Sylvia, Here is a unique question. What are the ingredients of the differences between a visitation dream and just a "regular" dream? How can we tell the difference? I had a very detailed visitation dream where my mother who passed showed me that my beloved dog was with her. It occurred around Christmas...I can furnish many details but it doesn't seem too important here. They even matched...her gown matched the beautiful bow around his neck..in celebration of Christmas. My Mother always gave me a unique Christmas gift and that, the first year after her passing, showed me her tradition would continue. In this dream my dog came to me but then my mother"called" him back as they had to go.

Hi, Sylvia: When my dad passed away back in 2003 (coincidentally on your birthday, Oct.19), I was very distraught about it, as I had only seen him 3 weeks before his death (we were on strained speaking terms). The night of his passing I strongly believe he sent his spirit to one of my German Shepherds named Joey, who came to sleep in bed with me, giving me kisses and staying next to me all night. Sometimes now I believe my father sends me messages through Joey to tell me he's watching over me. Joey comes to sleep with me at night, snuggles to keep me warm and wakes up with me when the alarm goes off. No other relative who has passed before my dad ever came to me via the pets in our lives. Presently we have 3 dogs, the 3 before them all passed and their creamins are here in the house with us. My other pets have long since passed, but I have no idea where they are other than on the other side to see them again when I go there. Love you Sylvia.

wow, that is a great story Marcia. I agree with you that all pets go to heaven. they also have souls and like people, they have a heart. pets are really good friends to us and every time i lose a pet, i just think of the good side, that they are already in good hands and happy.

HELLO AGAIN SYLVIA, JUST WANT TO EXPRESS MY GREATFUL FEELINGS OF THANKS TO YOU FOR ALL YOUR GOOD BOOKS. I HAVE "ANIMALS ON THE OTHER SIDE" AND ITS VERY HELPFUL. I LOST MY DOG (TERRY) AFTER 17 LONG YEARS. HE DIED OF OLD AGE, AND I AM SO BLESSED TO KNOW THAT WE WILL BE REUNITED ONCE I RETURN HOME. I REMEMBER FROM YOUR BOOK THAT HE IS WITH SOMEONE I KNOW THAT HAS PASSED BEFORE ME, OR WITH A CHILD, WAITING FOR ME TO RETURN HOME. WE HAD A ROUGH LIFE TOGETHER, I'M SURE HE KNOWS I DID THE BEST I COULD. NO MATTER WHAT, NO MATTER WHERE, WE WERE TOGETHER. MY HEART MISSES HIM DEARLY, I LOOK FORWARD TO REUNITING WITH HIM ONE DAY....THANK YOU FOR THE WORDS TO PUT MY HEART AT EASE. KENDAL:)

I lost my mother July 3, 2007 and my husband July 24, 2007, my dog took to my husband and became his dog for over 6 years. When my husband died, I knew that I would be loosing his dog because he watched for him and when my husband died, he would not go into the room ever. He had a broken heart and I think he died of a broken heart. One morning he was breathing that last breaths of death and I gave him cpr and he came back for a moment but then I say the life go out of his eyes and he died. I know he went to be with my husband at Rainbow Bridge and I miss him so much but know where he is and who he is with. All dogs go to heaven and I think God gave us dogs to show us unconditional love the way God loves us. Marcia

i think all pets go to heaven because they also have souls. and even if pets are also not perfect, i think they are not considered as sinners. pets are loved by us and i think they really deserve to go to heaven. their souls.

I do believe that pets do go to heaven. thank you for confirming that Sylvia. you are the best! some do not believe that pets does have souls. but for me, i do believe because pets are also like humans, they have souls. if i lose a pet especially one of my dogs, it is like i also lost a very close person..and i also pray for their souls.
